Eddy Moon, 50, has been a cop for 30 years. He still works a beat, never having aspired to climb the ranks. He was one of the first responders to 9/11, and experienced the devastation first hand. Six days later, on the first night of the new moon, he was walking the neighborhood, unable to sleep, and came across a suspicious man standing at a hot dog stand. Eddy’s cop instincts made him investigate, but before he could ask any questions a brick wall exploded into a crackling light show and monstrous creatures came through the “gate.” Two intricately carved daggers on the man’s cart glowed, indicating that Eddy was the Warrior of the Gate. Life would never be the same.
He left Marie, the wife he loved, and his beloved daughter Raven in order to protect them from becoming collateral damage as he hunted the creatures that came through the gate. Neither Marie nor Raven has any idea of Eddy’s “side” job.
Eddy and Alex worked together for 13 years, protecting the citizens of New York. Alex trained Eddy to fight monsters. They are partners, loyal to each other, but their differences stop them from actually being friends. Eddy does, however, have many friends from many different walks of life: A fellow police officer, a bar owner and a homeless vet.
